CHANGING GEAR

KINDLE BOOK COVER

In the summer of 2006 Allan and Eileen Sutherland cycled from Britain to Bulgaria. He was a fit 52 year old with a new Dawes Galaxy bike and she was an overweight 54 year old with a dodgy knee and an old Trek. They set off with only a hazy idea of the route and not much money.

Eileen asked OED to create her a Kindle friendly cover for her novel. The cover freatures anillustration of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia and is loosely based on the colours of the Bulgarian flag.

BLUEPRINT CAFE

Situated above the Design Museum, Blueprint Café enjoys one of the most enviable locations in London with panoramic City views over Tower Bridge stretching from Canary Wharf to the West. Head chef Jeremy Lee has been at the helm of Blueprint Café for the past 16 years and has earned a glowing reputation for his uncomplicated, seasonal cooking influenced by Europe and his native Scotland.

Using Jeremy as the linchpin, OED developed a mailer that used many of the key architectural elements of the restaurant to create a light, fun and modern mailer where Blueprint could brag about their seasonal offerings.

BUTLERS WHARF CHOP HOUSE

SEASONAL MAILER

Inspired by the best of British - from the cornucopia of native produce to cricket pavilions and boathouses and the art of the St Ives Group - Butlers Wharf Chop House appeals to lovers of traditional and simple, honest 'fare'.

BWCH asked OED to design a mailer that embodied the seasonal nature of the changeable menu. OED designed 4 separate backgrounds - 1 for each season.

FLORIDITA

Nestled within the heart of the bustling West End, Floridita London emulates the 1930s style of the legendary El Floridita of Cuba. With deep reds, luxurious white leather and an abundance of crystal, this Latin-inspired supper club combines an iconic, vibrant restaurant with the infamous Floridita Cocktail bar and live Cuban Music to show you a night you won't forget.

Floridita communicated with it's database on a regular basis and needed a simple layout that could advertise a multitude of subjects. OED developed a clean, stackable layout that used many of the elements OED developed in the Print Collateral.

LE PONT DE LA TOUR

Le Pont de la Tour restaurant is a jewel in the crown of the London restaurant scene, a stylish, luxurious, bubbling restaurant that gives diners great meals and unparalleled views of the Tower Bridge, the Gherkin and the thrilling London skyline.

LPDT needed to update their current Mailer. OED developed a stylish but fun layout that allowed for one article per each of the 4 facets of LPDT (Restaurant, Bar & Grill, Wineshop and Foodstore), with a menu which enabled the viewer to 'jump to' each section.

CANTINA DEL PONTE

A corner of Italian sunshine in Butlers Wharf, Shad Thames, Cantina del Ponte offers the influences, flavours and atmosphere of Italy. Simple, regional and authentic Italian fare are aplenty.

Cantina needed to address the issue of locality.

SKYLON

Skylon restaurant in London’s landmark Royal Festival Hallis a stylish restaurant on a grand scale, with formal dining room, smart casual grill and centerpiece bar, each a blend of 1950’s-inspired chic and modern design, all with sweeping Thames panoramas through floor-to-ceiling windows.

OED was asked by Skylon to design a clean, uncomplicated mailer that emulates the vast, bight spaces of the venue itself.
